I went for a very long time in my adult life avoiding poetry whenever possible, and I’m not even sure why. Something during my college years really soured me on it all, but I no longer remember what did that.

But as I’ve been reading wonderful poets on Medium and getting back into fiction writing, I’ve started gaining new appreciation for the art form. I figure I have a lot to learn from people who know how to evoke beautiful imagery and meaning with an economy of language.
